Lean on Me: Peer to Peer Support Groups

May 18, 2023 | 4:00pm

Research shows that peer support groups offer opportunities to explore relationships and build skills leading to improved outcomes for all students. This session takes a look at one model, Summit ALPS, which is being used in districts with middle and high school students. This outreach educational audiology program provides social get-togethers for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, allowing them to learn from their peers and improve self-advocacy and coping skills.
