Collaborative Planning

Examples

Collaborative planning is a critical layer in the development of instruction that can span any least restrictive environment (LRE). Collaborative planning should precede instruction that includes a wide variety of learners to ensure that all learners have access to IEP specific supports and services, including technology, accommodations, and environmental supports needed for learning. It requires educators to pre-plan for barriers that students might encounter during assessment and instruction and includes tools, methods, and materials that will circumvent these barriers. The examples provided show samples of collaborative plans that are universally designed, differentiated, and include planning for IEP specific needs.
