OCALI is regularly called on by state and national partners to implement initiatives and inform policy. We participate in workgroups and councils, acting in advisory and leadership roles. These efforts include:
Reviews state policies, current research and data, and identifies opportunities to better communicate and coordinate autism policy across multiple systems.
Advises and assists the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) on special education and related services for children with disabilities.
Implements the work of Ohio’s Employment First Taskforce.
Provides educators - no matter their role - with the structures and resources they need to develop shared and effective leadership at every level.
Informs, educates, and supports hospitality professionals in higher education and those now working in the hospitality industry so they can develop practices that will invite all families.
Advises project personnel on the development, implementation and evaluation of project activities, and in making connections among and across state, regional and local entities as they relate to the work of the Ohio Center for Deafblind Education.
Advises and assists the Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) in the administration of Ohio Revised Code and the development of statewide child care policies and procedures.
Made up of Early Intervention Advisory Council members, additional parents and family members, and representatives from provider and state agencies.
