PBIS Lessons Learned Part 2: Early Childhood

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, or PBIS, can be a complex topic to understand and an even more challenging process to apply and implement. At its core, PBIS is a framework for solving problems and a blueprint for changing the way school communities understand behavioral challenges and support social, emotional, and behavioral expectations. This episode focuses on how implementing PBIS may look different for our youngest students (preschool-grade 3). While the features of PBIS are the same across all grades, there is a greater emphasis on what is developmentally appropriate for young learners in early childhood. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of early childhood considerations through the lens of the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) at the Tier 1 level.
