The Family Services component of OCALI is dedicated to giving families access to the information, services and supports they need by providing an up-to-date, comprehensive website, and print materials, offering phone assistance, conducting regional training throughout the state, and offering access to other resources at national, state and local levels.
Working collaboratively with other state and local agencies, OCALI'S goal is to improve the quality and quantity of services available to families statewide by providing models for community-based programs. We act as a liaison among agencies serving families and as a catalyst for bringing agencies together. OCALI reaches out to existing parent support groups by offering resources and assistance through speakers and training materials, as well as promoting the establishment of additional parent support groups.
We support working with the school, the community, and the family to develop comprehensive programming for an individual child.
OCALI has received a grant from the Autism Society of Ohio to provide a print copy of Ohio's Parent Guide to Autism Spectrum Disorders to any parent of a child with autism who calls to request one. Parents may call toll-free at 866-886-2254.
