OCALI Devices
PURPOSE: To give educators, therapists, and parents access to a variety of devices which may be used for supervised evaluation of students, diagnostic trials, or inservice. Supervision may include direct contact or consultation with qualified, trained borrowers. Evaluation may occur in all environments, including but not limited to school, State Support Team (SST), home, or other facility involved with the student. OCALI will determine and monitor the appropriate use of the devices.
OCALI Loan Guidelines for Devices
- Devices will be loaned to the person designated responsible for the device(s).
- The designated person is responsible for each device borrowed.
- Devices may be used only when the evaluation, diagnostic trial, or consultation session is provided at no cost to the parent, school district, or SST.
- Devices will be scheduled on a first come-first served basis. OCALI will confirm all requests in writing. Schedule devices online through OCALI Library 4 Universal.
- Each device will be sent and picked up via United Parcel Service (UPS). OCALI will pay the UPS costs and arrange UPS service. The device(s) will be sent from OCALI via UPS on the day arranged. Please allow several days for delivery. The device(s) will be picked up by UPS on the arranged day. UPS will be notified with a call tag issued by OCALI to pick up the device(s).
- The device(s) must be delivered or returned via UPS on the arranged dates to ensure adequate time to prepare the device(s) for the next loan period.

OCALI Computer Lab
PURPOSE: To give SST personnel access to a computer training lab, which may be used for SST sponsored inservice. It is assumed that the primary focus of the inservice is related to the education of students with autism and low disabilities and ways all students can gain access to the general curriculum. The SST should be involved in the inservice planning as well as onsite the days of the training. The training lab will be loaned to or through the SST person designated responsible for the training lab.
OCALI Loan Guidelines for Computer Lab:
- The SST designated person is responsible for the training lab.
- The training lab may be used only when there is SST involvement.
- The training lab will be scheduled on a first come-first served basis. OCALI will confirm all requests in writing. Please reserve online.
- The training lab may be borrowed for a week period (5 days).
- The training lab can be sent and returned via United Parcel Service (UPS). OCALI will pay the UPS costs and arrange UPS service. The training lab will be sent from OCALI via UPS on the day arranged. Please allow several days for delivery. The training lab will be picked up by UPS on the arranged day. UPS will be notified with a call tag issued by OCALI to pick up the training lab. The SST designee will be responsible for ensuring that the training lab is ready when UPS arrives for pickup.
- The training lab must be delivered or returned via UPS on the arranged dates to ensure adequate time to prepare the training lab equipment for the next loan period.
- The borrower should complete and return all parts of the Training Lab Data form.
- Repairs and replacement costs necessary as a result of negligence, inappropriate use, or mishandling will be the responsibility of the borrower.
- The borrower must remove any software or files installed or created during the training. If the borrower is unsure of which files to remove, leave the file and note on the Training Lab Data form for OCALI to remove.
